Hala is a drug reference, a set of dose calculators and a community board for doctors in Egypt. This policy states exactly what is collected and what is not. Every claim here is checkable against the project’s source.

There are no accounts

No sign-in, no email address, no name, no phone number, no password. No subscriptions and no payments. You open the app and use it.

Search and dosing run on your device

The drug catalogue is downloaded once and searched locally. What you type in the search box never leaves your device. The dose calculators and the prescription builder are local too: the weight and age you enter are never transmitted and never stored.

Favourites stay on your device

Saved drugs live in your browser’s storage and never reach the server. Clearing site data removes them, and we hold no copy.

The community board

Reading and searching the board require no identity at all. The first time you write a post or a comment, your device generates a random key and keeps it locally; the server stores only its hash, never the key. Its only purpose is to let you delete your own post. It is never shown to you, never typed into any field, and is not linked to a name or an address because neither exists. The handle shown beside your post is generated by the server and identifies nobody.

Posts, comments and hashtags are public and readable by anyone, in the app or through a post’s direct link.

Photographs

Any post may carry a photograph, and it is published publicly and immediately, with no review. Before storing it, the server strips EXIF and XMP metadata from the file — GPS coordinates, capture time, camera serial number — so that your clinic’s location does not travel inside the file without your knowing.

What is written on the paper is yours to cover. That stripping removes data hidden in the file; it does not read the picture and it does not mask a patient’s name written on a prescription. Cover patient details before you photograph anything.

What is logged technically

The server logs IP addresses and request times as any web server does, to prevent abuse and apply rate limits. It records the last date a device was used — a date, not a time — so abandoned devices can be cleaned up. No user profiles are built.

No tracking, no advertising

No analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking library. No data is sold or shared with anyone. The app talks to halamd.com and to nothing else.

Deletion

You can delete your own post or comment from the app for as long as the key remains on your device. If you clear site data or change device, the key is gone and older posts stay up and cannot be deleted by you — because no account ties you to them. To have a post removed after that, send its number to abdallahwageh34@gmail.com.

Children

The app is intended for doctors and healthcare workers. It is not directed at children.

Not a substitute for clinical judgement

Drug information and calculated doses are a reference aid. Final responsibility for any prescription or dose rests with the prescribing clinician.
